JazzCash and EasyPaisa integration: a guide for businesses

To accept JazzCash and EasyPaisa payments, you open a merchant account with each provider, or one account with an aggregator that covers both, then connect your website or app to their payment API. The part that decides whether it works in real life is on your side: confirming every payment on your own server and reconciling it against your orders each day.

In short

  • Start the merchant account applications first: approval can take longer than the development.
  • An aggregator gives one integration for wallets, cards and bank transfers, for an extra fee.
  • Never trust the browser or app alone: verify each payment on your server.
  • Plan for missing confirmations, refunds and daily reconciliation from day one.

What you need before you start

  • A merchant account with JazzCash, EasyPaisa or an aggregator. Each provider sets its own documents; expect business registration details, the owners' identity documents and a business bank account for settlement.
  • Sandbox (test) credentials to build against, and later separate live credentials.
  • A server you control. Payments must be confirmed by your back end, not only by the website in the customer's browser or by the mobile app.
  • A clear refund and cancellation policy, which providers usually expect to see on your site.

Apply for the merchant accounts first. Approval often takes longer than the code.

How a wallet payment works

The exact screens depend on the provider and the integration type, but a wallet payment generally follows these steps:

  1. The customer chooses JazzCash or EasyPaisa at checkout and enters their mobile account number.
  2. Your server creates the payment with the provider, signed with your merchant credentials.
  3. The customer approves the payment on their phone, for example with their wallet PIN or a one-time code, within a time limit.
  4. The provider sends the result to your server, and usually redirects the customer back to your site or app.
  5. Your server checks the result is genuine and the amount matches the order, then marks it paid and sends a receipt.

The parts that go wrong

The confirmation never arrives

Networks fail and customers close the page. If your server has not heard back within a few minutes, it should ask the provider for the payment's status instead of leaving the order as unpaid.

The same confirmation arrives twice

Providers may resend notifications. Process each payment once, using its transaction reference, so an order is never marked paid twice or a receipt sent twice.

The customer runs out of time

Wallet approvals expire. Show clear instructions while the customer approves on their phone, and let them retry without creating a duplicate order.

Refunds

Decide who can issue refunds, how they are recorded against the order, and whether they go through the provider's merchant portal or its API.

Reconciliation

Every day, match the provider's settlement report against your orders. This catches payments that succeeded but were never recorded, and the reverse, before a customer has to complain.

Security checklist

  • Keep merchant keys and secrets on your server only, never inside a mobile app or website code.
  • Verify the provider's signature or hash on every result, and check the amount and order reference yourself.
  • Use HTTPS everywhere, and log every payment request and response for disputes.
  • Keep test and live credentials separate, and switch only after a full test with real small payments.

How long does integration take?

Once merchant accounts are approved, an experienced developer can usually build a clean integration for one or two methods in one to three weeks, including testing with real small payments. Merchant approval itself depends on the provider and on how complete your documents are, so start it first. For a sense of the wider project cost, see our software development cost guide.

Example: school fees in Evolvora Campus

In Evolvora Campus, our school fee management software, parents pay school fees through JazzCash and EasyPaisa from their phones, and the school sees paid, pending and outstanding fees for every student in one place. Fee reminders go out on WhatsApp and SMS. It is the kind of payment work worth asking any software company to show you running live, as our guide to choosing a software company in Lahore recommends.

FAQ

JazzCash and EasyPaisa integration: common questions

Open a merchant account with each provider, or one account with a payment aggregator that covers both. Then integrate their payment API or hosted checkout, verify every payment on your own server, and reconcile payments against orders each day. A developer experienced with both usually needs one to three weeks once the merchant accounts are approved.

Direct integration avoids an extra fee but means two separate accounts, APIs and settlement reports. An aggregator gives one integration for wallets, cards and bank transfers, and is faster to launch, in exchange for its own fee. For most small and mid-sized businesses an aggregator is the quicker start.

Requirements are set by each provider and change over time, but expect to provide business registration details, the owners' identity documents and a business bank account for settlement. Check the current list with the provider before you start development.

Usually because the provider's confirmation never reached your server, or arrived after the customer left. A reliable integration checks the payment status with the provider when no confirmation arrives, and reconciles against the daily settlement report.
