# Software companies in Lahore: a 2026 list and buyer's guide

By [Sheharyar Khan](https://evolvoratech.com/about/), founder of Evolvora Technologies · Published 11 October 2026 · Updated 11 October 2026

Lahore has hundreds of software companies, from Systems Limited, founded here in 1977, to small teams that run their own products. The right **software company in Lahore** for you is one that has shipped and still runs real software for Pakistani users, can show you its payment and integration work live, quotes in rupees after a proper discovery phase, and will still be supporting you two years after launch. Below is a short list of well-known Lahore firms and what each is known for, then the checks to run before you sign with any of them.

In short

- Ask to see software the company **runs itself**, not only screenshots of client work.
- For anything that takes money, insist on a **live JazzCash, EasyPaisa or card integration** you can try.
- Schools with several branches should test **multi-campus** handling: separate data per campus, one head-office view.
- Expect a discovery phase, weekly demos, code and hosting in **your name**, and support terms in writing.
- A first version of a custom web app typically takes **2 to 4 months** and costs **Rs 1.5 to 5 million**.

## Why hire a software company in Lahore?

Hiring locally is about more than time zones. A software company in Lahore can sit in your office for a requirements workshop, train your staff in Urdu, and already knows how Pakistani customers pay, which phones they use and how patchy mobile data can be outside the big cities. Contracts and invoices are in rupees, and problems can be solved face to face.

Lahore also has a deep pool of engineers, from the [Arfa Software Technology Park](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arfa_Software_Technology_Park) to the many software houses around Johar Town, Gulberg and DHA. That choice is the problem: hundreds of firms describe themselves the same way. The rest of this guide is about telling them apart.

Compared with a freelancer, a company gives you continuity: if one developer leaves, the knowledge and the code stay with a team. Compared with an overseas agency, you usually pay less, get support in your own hours, and work with people who understand local requirements without having them explained.

## Software companies in Lahore: who does what

This is not a ranking. It is a starting shortlist of well-known software companies (in Pakistan often called software houses) with large teams or offices in Lahore, with what each is publicly known for, so you can match a firm to the size and type of your project. It is published by Evolvora Technologies, which is included at the end. Details come from each company's own website and public sources as of October 2026; check them directly before you decide.

Pakistani SMEs, startups and schools

The big names suit large, long programmes with big budgets. Small and mid-sized Pakistani businesses and schools often get more attention, faster decisions and lower prices from a smaller firm, as long as it passes the checks below. Whoever you shortlist, compare them on the same questions rather than on who appears in a "top 10" list: many of those lists, including this one, are written by software companies.

## Which services should it offer?

Most projects need more than one discipline. A capable software company should cover these in-house, or tell you plainly which parts it subcontracts.

### Custom web applications

Dashboards, portals and internal tools built around your workflow. Ask how they structure the code so another team could maintain it, and whether they write automated tests.

### Mobile apps

Most Pakistani users are on Android, often on mid-range phones. Ask whether the app works on a slow connection, how large the download is, and whether they have published to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store under a client's own account.

### SaaS product engineering

If you are selling software to many customers, you need multi-tenant architecture (each customer's data kept separate inside one system), subscription billing, and role-based access. This is very different from a one-off website, so ask for a SaaS product the company has actually taken to paying customers.

### UI/UX design

Good design starts with research and wireframes, not colours. Ask to see a clickable prototype from a past project, and whether the design handles Urdu text and right-to-left layouts if you need them.

### Cloud and DevOps

Someone has to deploy, monitor, back up and update the software after launch. Ask how they deploy (an automated pipeline, or by hand), how they are alerted when something breaks, and how quickly they can restore from a backup.

Evolvora covers all six areas in-house. See our [software development services](https://evolvoratech.com/services/) for the detail.

## Why its own products matter more than a portfolio

A portfolio shows what a company delivered once. Its own products show what it can keep running. A firm that operates software under its own name deals every day with real users, support requests, payment failures and updates, which is exactly what you need from a long-term partner. Here are the two products Evolvora runs, as an example of what to look for.

### Evolvora Campus: a SaaS product for Pakistani schools

_Evolvora Campus_

The Evolvora Campus admin dashboard.

[Evolvora Campus](https://evolvoratech.com/products/evolvora-campus/) is a [school management system](https://evolvoratech.com/school-management-system/) that schools use for admissions, attendance, marks, fees, teacher payroll and parent communication. Building it meant solving the problems most Pakistani clients bring to a software company:

- **Local payments:** parents pay fees through JazzCash and EasyPaisa, and the school sees paid, pending and outstanding fees in one place.
- **Messaging people actually read:** fee reminders and attendance alerts go out on WhatsApp and SMS, not only email.
- **Multi-tenant SaaS:** many schools on one platform, each with its own data, and [multi-campus](https://evolvoratech.com/campus-management-system/) networks with a head-office view across every branch.
- **Role-based access:** separate views for admins, teachers and parents, with parent accounts created automatically.
- **Fast onboarding:** bulk import of students and staff from Excel, so a school can go live in days.

It is sold at a published price, [Rs 50 per active student per month](https://evolvoratech.com/products/evolvora-campus/pricing/), which is itself a useful test: a company that publishes its own prices tends to be straightforward about yours.

### SilaaiMarkaz: a two-sided marketplace in Lahore

_silaaimarkaz.com_

[Image: SilaaiMarkaz: price agreed before work starts, saved measurements, visit the Darzi's shop, rated Darzis]

SilaaiMarkaz connects customers in Lahore with local tailors.

[SilaaiMarkaz](https://evolvoratech.com/products/silaaimarkaz/) connects people in Lahore with local tailors (Darzis). Customers compare shops by portfolio, price and ratings, save their measurements once, and agree the price in the app before work starts. It runs on Android and the web, in English and Urdu. A marketplace has to serve two very different users at once, here customers and shop owners, and that is the kind of product thinking to look for if you are building a platform of your own.

## Practical checks before you sign

These checks take an afternoon and save months. Do them before you sign anything.

### 1\. Payment gateway experience

If your software takes money, payments are where projects most often slip. In Pakistan that means mobile wallets (JazzCash, EasyPaisa), cards through a local bank or acquirer, and bank transfers, including [Raast](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raast), the State Bank of Pakistan's instant payment system. Ask the company:

- Can I make a real payment in a live system you built?
- How long did merchant onboarding with the provider take, and who handled it?
- What happens when a payment succeeds at the bank but the confirmation never reaches the app?
- How are refunds, partial payments and daily reconciliation handled?

A team that has run payments in production will answer these in detail. A team that has only used a sandbox will talk about the API. Our [JazzCash and EasyPaisa integration guide](https://evolvoratech.com/guides/jazzcash-easypaisa-integration/) explains what a reliable integration involves.

### 2\. Multi-campus school integrations

School networks are a common and demanding client in Lahore. If you run more than one branch, check that the software:

-   keeps each campus's students, staff and fee records separate, so a branch head sees only their branch;
-   gives head office one consolidated view, with totals and comparisons across campuses;
-   allows different fee structures, discounts and timetables per campus;
-   sends messages to one class, one campus or the whole network;
- imports existing records from Excel instead of retyping them.

These are the problems [Evolvora Campus's multi-campus management](https://evolvoratech.com/campus-management-system/) was built for, so it is a useful benchmark when you compare vendors, or a ready answer if you would rather not build at all.

### 3\. Ownership of code, data and accounts

Your contract should say that you own the source code, and that the domain, hosting, app store and payment accounts are registered in your company's name. Ask for access to the code repository from the first week, not at the end.

### 4\. Security and data handling

Ask where the data is hosted, who on their team can access it, how passwords are stored and how often backups are tested. Student and payment data deserve particular care.

### 5\. Process and visibility

You should see working software every week or two, not a big reveal at the end. Ask for a sample project plan and a sample weekly update.

### 6\. Support after launch, in writing

Get response times, working hours, what counts as a bug versus a new feature, and the monthly cost of support agreed before launch. For example, Evolvora's Enterprise plan for school networks puts a 99.5% uptime commitment in writing.

### 7\. Registration and standing

Check that the company is a registered business and that you can meet the people who will build your software, on a video call or in person. A big office is not proof of quality, and many good teams, Evolvora included, work remotely; what matters is a named team, a written contract and references. Registration with the [Pakistan Software Export Board](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan_Software_Export_Board) or membership of [P@SHA](https://www.pasha.org.pk/) are further signals, but they do not replace the checks above.

## References and client feedback

Testimonials on a website are a starting point. A phone call is better. Ask for two or three clients with projects like yours and ask them three things: did it launch on time and on budget, what went wrong and how was it handled, and are they still working with the company today?

Evolvora is happy to put you in touch with schools that run Evolvora Campus and with the Darzis on SilaaiMarkaz. [Ask us for references](https://evolvoratech.com/contact/) and we will arrange a call.

## Red flags

- A fixed price for a complex system before anyone has asked how your business works.
- No live software you can use, only screenshots and mock-ups.
- The code, hosting or app store account will be in the vendor's name.
- No written support terms, or support "included" with no hours or response times.
- You never meet the developers, only a salesperson.
- Every question is answered with "yes, we can do that" and none with "here is how".

## Sample timelines and pricing bands

These are typical ranges for Pakistani clients in 2026, to help you budget and to sanity-check quotes. They are not a quote: the real figure depends on scope, integrations and who maintains the software afterwards, and should follow a discovery phase. For what drives each figure and the running costs to add, see our [guide to software development cost in Pakistan](https://evolvoratech.com/guides/software-development-cost-pakistan/).

Engagement

Typical timeline

Typical price (PKR)

Business website or landing site

3 to 6 weeks

Rs 150,000 to 600,000

UI/UX design sprint (research, wireframes, clickable prototype)

2 to 4 weeks

Rs 250,000 to 800,000

Custom web application, first version

8 to 14 weeks

Rs 1.5 to 5 million

Cross-platform mobile app (Android and iOS)

10 to 16 weeks

Rs 2 to 6 million

SaaS product, first version (multi-tenant, billing)

4 to 6 months

Rs 4 to 12 million and up

Cloud and DevOps setup or migration

2 to 6 weeks

Rs 250,000 to 1.2 million

Maintenance and support retainer

Monthly, ongoing

Rs 100,000 to 500,000 a month

For schools, compare those figures with a ready product. Evolvora Campus costs Rs 50 per active student per month on Standard, so a 500-student school pays about Rs 25,000 a month with no build cost, and multi-campus networks can choose [Enterprise at Rs 75](https://evolvoratech.com/products/evolvora-campus/pricing/) with an account manager and on-site training. Building from scratch only makes sense when no product fits.

### What a typical engagement looks like

1. **Discovery (1 to 2 weeks):** workshops with your team, a written scope, a first estimate and the main risks.
2. **Design (2 to 3 weeks):** wireframes and a clickable prototype you can test with real users before any code is written.
3. **Build (6 to 12 weeks):** one- or two-week sprints, each ending with a working demo you can try.
4. **Launch (1 to 2 weeks):** data migration, staff training, go-live and close monitoring.
5. **Support and growth (ongoing):** fixes, updates and new features under a monthly retainer.

## Checklist: choosing a long-term technology partner

Use this before you sign. A company worth a long partnership should pass all ten.

1. Runs at least one live product or system you can use yourself.
2. Has shipped work in your sector, or a problem shaped like yours.
3. Can demonstrate live JazzCash, EasyPaisa, card or bank integrations if you take payments.
4. For schools: handles multiple campuses with separate data and a head-office view.
5. Offers a discovery phase before a fixed price.
6. Shows you working software every one or two weeks.
7. Puts code, domain, hosting and app store accounts in your name.
8. Explains where your data is hosted, who can access it and how backups work.
9. Agrees support hours, response times and monthly cost in writing.
10. Gives you references you can call, and lets you meet the actual team, online or in person in Lahore.

FAQ

## Hiring a software company in Lahore: common questions

Well-known names include Systems Limited, the oldest, founded in Lahore in 1977; NetSol Technologies, which makes leasing and asset-finance software; Arbisoft and Devsinc, which build custom software and AI for international clients; Confiz, known for retail technology and Microsoft platforms; and Techlogix, known for ERP and digital banking. Smaller firms such as Evolvora Technologies focus on Pakistani businesses and schools and run their own products. The best fit depends on your project size and budget, not on a ranking.

For Pakistani clients, a business website usually costs Rs 150,000 to 600,000, a first version of a custom web application Rs 1.5 to 5 million, and a cross-platform mobile app Rs 2 to 6 million. SaaS products start around Rs 4 million. Ongoing support is typically Rs 100,000 to 500,000 a month. A fixed quote should follow a paid or free discovery phase.

A small website takes 3 to 6 weeks. A first version of a web or mobile application takes roughly 2 to 4 months, and a SaaS product 4 to 6 months. Discovery and design usually take the first 2 to 5 weeks, and the build then runs in one- or two-week sprints with a working demo at the end of each.

Most schools should buy. A ready school management system such as Evolvora Campus costs Rs 50 per active student per month, with a free first month, and is live in days. Custom development only makes sense when a school network has a workflow no product supports, and even then it is usually cheaper to extend an existing platform.

At minimum JazzCash and EasyPaisa for mobile wallets, card payments through a local bank or acquirer, and bank transfers including Raast, the State Bank of Pakistan's instant payment system. Ask for a live project that takes real payments, not only a sandbox demo, and ask how they handle failed payments, refunds and reconciliation.

Yes. Evolvora Technologies is a software company based in Lahore that works as a remote team. It builds custom web, mobile and cloud software, and makes its own products: Evolvora Campus, a school management system, and SilaaiMarkaz, a tailoring marketplace in Lahore.
